SS Rajamouli has offered fans another look at Mahesh Babu as Rudhra in Varanasi, sharing new images that reveal more of the character and the world being created for the highly anticipated film.

The new Varanasi movie stills feature Mahesh Babu in two very different settings. One shows Rudhra relaxing on a bamboo raft surrounded by a dense natural landscape, while another captures him against a wide African backdrop with wildlife visible in the distance.

Rajamouli confirmed that the images were captured during the Africa schedule of Varanasi. The filmmaker described Rudhra as a man driven by a purpose greater than himself, while also highlighting the character’s strength, vulnerability and fierce nature.

The director also spoke about the experience of filming in Africa, suggesting that the natural locations gave the team visuals that would have been difficult to recreate on a conventional film set.

Mahesh Babu later shared the images with fans as well, giving audiences another glimpse into Rudhra’s world.

The latest stills add to the growing curiosity surrounding Mahesh Babu’s character. Rather than revealing major story details, the images offer small clues about the scale and atmosphere Rajamouli is aiming for with the film.

Varanasi brings Mahesh Babu together with director SS Rajamouli for one of the most closely watched Indian film projects currently in production. Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran are also part of the cast.
